Acadia School of Music presents A Soprano in Hollywood featuring Rebecca Caine and Robert Kortgaard.

Rebecca Caine is equally comfortable singing musical theatre, opera, oratorio, and cabaret. Although born in Toronto, Ms Caine has divided her musical career between the UK and Canada when she is not performing as an invited artist elsewhere. She created the role of Cosette in Les Miserables and was part of the original cast for Phantom of the Opera in BOTH London and Toronto. She has been the principal soprano in numerous operas throughout the world, is frequently heard in the UK on Radio 3, and recently performed in The Mikado (Katisha) at the Charing Cross Theatre to rave reviews. Some of you may remember her presentation of Leading Ladies which she and Mr Kortgaard performed in Wolfville a few years ago. In that show, they presented songs of leading ladies from the British Musical Theatre. Her new show, with pianist Robert Kortgaard, features music from the movies, made famous by glamorous Hollywood sopranos.

Breaking news: Ms Caine has recently been chosen for the People's Choice Award as the Best Cabaret Singer of the Year by BroadwayWorld (Toronto).

Robert Kortgaard is a Prairie-born pianist who has studied at the Juilliard School (BA, MA) and post-graduate studies in Italy and England. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras and given recitals throughout North America, Asia, Oceania, and Europe. Further, he is a much sought after accompanist for vocalists and other instrumentalists
