Five Stab Wounds in the Governor
Sunday August 16, 2009  2pm
Theatre

Five Stab Wounds in the Governor (abridged version) plays at the Back Yard Stage of the O'Dell House Museum and is presented as part of the O'Dell's 40th Anniversary celebrations.

The play, written by Kent Thompson, stars Madaline Akin, Brenda Keen and Brenda Thompson, and is based on an event that took place in Annapolis Royal in 1739. The then Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, Lt.Col. Lawrence Armstrong, was found dead of five stab wounds in his chest. What transpired at the inquest is not known, but the verdict, delivered by the other Lieutenant Governor, Major Alexander Cosby, has come down in history - suicide in a fit of lunacy!

Call it justice or call it a cover-up, but the answer's still a mystery. Come and see if you can unravel it! Don't forget to bring a lawn chair.
