ATTENTION: Parents of Young Adults with Disabilities
If you are concerned about employment, social networking, making community connections, or if you have concerns about residential living for your son or daughter, please attend the following meeting. Other concerned persons and community members are welcome to attend.
MEETING: Thursday, August 6 at 7PM at Emmanuel Church in Middleton (Next to the Library)
PURPOSE: To brainstorm ways of supporting each other and our children in the pursuit of a lifestyle which addresses the need to be valued and connected with the community while contributing back to the communities in which they live.
PRESENTERS: Krystal Brown and Sandra Hirtle
TOPIC: The establishment of a small business model which would allow an individual to research and market a service or product with the assistance of a support worker. Other considerations could be establishing partnerships where services could be shared, etc. Krystal will share her experiences with helping her son, Chase Brown, pursue his pet treat business, Cut to the Chase and hopefully open a conversation that could lead to a group of young adults in the West Kings/East Annapolis Counties area pursuing their own social enterprises.
Contact: Sandra Hirtle 902 538-0358 or Krystal Brown 902 765-2433 for information or questions
