A Mi'kmaq Mawio'mi is a gathering of people for various purposes. The aim of this year’s Mawio'mi is to recognize the healing potential of the arts, and to learn other ways of being, thinking, & learning, with a focus on the question: How do we co-exist in a just & peaceful way?
★ Day 2 – Each day begins with a sunrise ceremony prayer. Then there are simultaneous events throughout the day. Some of the features are reconciling with the land, led by Shalan Joudrey. Workshops on Truth & Reconciliation workshops: Law & Governance, Rx For Canada with John Houston, a poetry reading with Anna Marie Sewell and more (check schedule at http://tinyurl.com/Acadia-Mawiomi-Events for changes & most up-to-date events).
☛ Unfortunately, due to a death in her family, Keynote speaker Tina Keeper will not be joining in the Mawio’mi this year. Other guests will fill in including Edmonton’s poet laureate, Elder Viola Robinson, who was a part of the Truth & Reconciliation Commission.
► In the evening, as always, a hot cocoa & teachings event by the Sacred Fire. Also, an outdoor kitchen party 9–10pm.

This is a community-campus event, so everyone wishing to explore our theme question is welcome to join in and participate.
