He is the founder and Co-Director of Himal Watch - A Trust for Nature, a research, education and community development organization in the Kumaon region of the Indian Himalaya. He has extensive community development experience, from being a facilitator in small Indian villages to the director of a large development organization, to an educator and academic both in India and the United States.
