Since moving to the Annapolis Valley in 2005, Caleb Miles has established himself on the local scene as a formidable guitarist, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, his stylistic diversity is displayed on three self-produced cds (BRICKYARD ROAD, MEMORY WELL, and STRANGE WEATHER), blending blues, folk, country, roots-rock and pop. Caleb has performed throughout The Maritimes as lead guitarist for The Hupman Brothers Band (2010 ECMA for Best Blues Album, 2011 Music Nova Scotia Award for Blues Album Of The Year), was featured on CBC’s Atlantic Airwaves, has opened for artists such as Thom Swift, Harry Manx, Stephen Fearing, Erin Costelo, and Steve Marriner, and has produced cds for local artists Mark Bezanson, Dayliner, James Stevenson, and Theresa Porter. Caleb is currently finishing up a new cd LONG DARK ROAD on which he again provides all the instrumentation (guitars, drums, keyboards, bass and vocals).

Caleb cut his musical teeth in Albuquerque, New Mexico, playing lead guitar in original rock’n’roll bands throughout the 1980s and early ‘90s. After a few years in Kentucky, he eventually settled in Portland, Oregon, where he continued to perform and record while managing a record store by day.

In 2005, Caleb moved to Nova Scotia expecting to surrender to rural solitude and an early retirement from the stage. He found instead a rich and rocking community of musicians, songwriters, performers and listeners with whom to share his talents. Whether as a band member or solo performer, with a guitar or behind the drums, onstage or in the studio, Caleb is fully committed to music as a means of self-expression and as a way of life.
