The Select Nova Scotia Incredible Picnic, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 30, is cancelled because of the weather forecast indicating tropical force winds and heavy rain. The event was originally scheduled for Aug. 23, but was postponed because of Hurricane Bill.
"Unfortunately, we are not able to reschedule the picnic for another time. We do not want to risk public safety or create undo hardship to vendors or organizers by going ahead with this Sunday's event," said Agriculture Minister John MacDonell.
"We would like Nova Scotians to know we are already working on a winter food celebration, and hope they will join us."
