Please join us for an evening of uplifting and heart-opening kirtan-style singing and chanting

Kirtan (meditative chanting and singing) is an ancient Indian yogic practice of singing from the heart — often with short, repetitive phrases, lots of groove, and a call and response delivery style — which deepens the breath and soothes the nervous system.

Many of the traditional chants are invocations or celebrations. They carry messages of love and peace (on many levels!), and often contain the sacred sound AUM or OM. Although written in Sanskrit and historically connected with Hindu tradition (sometimes invoking specific deities to bring light or remove obstacles, for instance) many of the chants have a broad and universal core.

With Ken Shorley, Heidi Kalyani, Andy Kavanagh and others!
