Talk Life Community in the Valley presents, Putting Out the Fires – Strategies for Dealing with Life’s Lemons.
There’s an old Polish proverb, “Not my circus, not my monkey.” Do you find yourself trying to fix everyone’s else’s issues? Then there are difficult conversations. When you are faced with the realization that you need to have one, do you put it on the back burner (who doesn’t?!)? When you see family/friends making lemonade from lemons do you ask yourself, “how in the heck do they do that?!”
Talk Life Community in the Valley is back for our third season and we are thrilled to have adult educator, author and Certified Life Coach, Lila Hope-Simpson as our first speaker, with the topic, “Putting Out the Fires” – Strategies for Dealing with Life’s Lemons (and monkeys!).
Lilia Hope-Simpson is the Executive Director of the Home & Heart Family Day Care Agency. She was honoured to be the recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education.
Lila is the author of the children’s book, Fiddles & Spoons, she was the recipient of the Best Specialty Column by the Atlantic Community Newspaper Association for her Positive Parenting columns, which have now been released in a book entitled, The Clothesline Collection. She is currently a freelance writer for the Chronicle Herald (Valley Harvester) and the author of her first novel, Stepping Out.
Lila is an Adult Educator and Certified Life Coach. Her writing reflects her interest in diversity, destiny, heritage and exploration.
Originally from Montreal, Lila Hope-Simpson resides in Gaspereau with her husband, Ian. She has three grown children, Rudi, Jasmine and Natasha.
Talk Life Community is a roaming talk café for women (although men are not excluded!). TLC was created by three friends and focuses on the joys and challenges we all face regardless of age and experience. Our goal is to share stories from those who have been there, don’t hat. With so many creative, courageous, intelligent and accomplished women in the Valley, we believe you will leave a TLC event feeling better then you arrived.
