Acadia University's Dept of History & Classics presents the 2016 Moody-Hamilton lecture entitled: "When Atlantic History took a Cosmopolitan Turn: Tracing French Exploration from the Amazon to Terra Australis".

This talk by Neil Safier will examine some aspects of French exploration in the Atlantic world in the long eighteenth century and France’s move toward the Pacific – and interactions between these two colossal oceanic spaces in the French imagination.
