Thursday December 3, 2009  7pm
Lecture / Seminar

If you’ve noticed a green beam of light emanating from the K.C. Irving Environmental Science Centre at Acadia University don't be alarmed. What you’re looking at is CORALNet’s latest LIDAR atmospheric aerosol monitoring installation provided by the Technology Branch of Environment Canada. Data collected from this monitoring system provides researchers and interested members of the public with valuable information on the atmosphere above and around the Wolfville area. This installation is part of a cross-country monitoring program.

The K.C. Irving Environmental Science Centre and CARE (Centre for Analytic Research of the Environment) invite you to learn more about this exciting installation during a presentation on Thursday December 3rd at 7:00pm in the Auditorium of the K.C. Irving Environmental Science Centre, Acadia University, 32 University Avenue Wolfville.

Dr Kevin Strawbridge of Environment Canada will be giving a presentation on LIDAR and CORALNet. The presentation is free and open to public. Baring bad weather, everyone will have the opportunity to have a firsthand look at the LIDAR in action.
