Gardening for Wildlife by Carol Goodwin.
We don’t garden in a glass bubble. Gardens are habitat for a wide range of wildlife species from insects to reptiles, birds and mammals. We have a responsibility to create ways to support their needs while enjoying our garden and outdoor space. This talk delves into environmentally intelligent landscapes and landscape management. Ideas will be discussed for planting and management strategies that benefit gardens and wildlife.
Carol Goodwin taught Environmental Horticulture at the Dal Agriculture campus for 25 years. Previous to that, she was the Head Gardener at Mt Saint Vincent University. She attended graduate school to explore new ways of seeing landscape function, and returned to teach a new generation of landscape managers that there is a better way.
