Many of us will experience some kind of trauma during our lifetime. Traumas can include the death of a loved one, domestic violence, injury or illness, abuse, combat, car accidents and natural disasters, among others. Sometimes we escape these traumas with no long-term effects , however, for millions of people, these experiences linger, causing symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, and negative thoughts that interfere with everyday life. After discussion of the signs, symptoms and treatment of post-traumatic stress as well as discussion of how to support a loved one with post-traumatic stress with Bryanne Harris, Psychologist (Can. Reg.) , there will be a brief question and answer period with light refreshments provided.
