Don Brownrigg has embraced his inner crooner. The Halifax-based Newfoundlander sonically explores the dualities of life, its complexities and simplicities, in his latest album, It Takes All Kinds (to make this world, I find). Brownrigg's extensive experience as a versatile musician shines here, from the acoustic atmospheric opener “How Are You Supposed To Know" to the pensive and longing closer, "Fight for Your Castle", Brownrigg has grown into himself as a singer-songwriter with ease and poise.

After releasing his pensive debut Wander Songs, Brownrigg's wandering ways turned to wonder. He toured Canada, the United States, and Europe. In his travels he dug deep within himself, questioning love, loss, meaning and philosophy. It Takes All Kinds (to make this world, I find), is a tapestry of life, filled with toe-tapping melodies, pensive, shadowy serenades, and glittering folk-pop flourishes. “There's love, there's loss, there's hope, there's regret," says Brownrigg. “There's seriousness and there's silliness. I like it that way. It keeps you thinking about the good and the bad in everything. It takes all kinds."

Brownrigg brings these charms to the stage with his rich voice, filled with experience and wisdom, and captivates audience with storytelling and soulful serenades. He has performed with the likes of Shawn Colvin, Serena Ryder, and Great Lake Swimmers and over the years has been a mainstay in the Halifax community; collaborating with hip-hop acts Jesse Dangerously and Rez Villian, Halifax Poet-Laureate Tanya Davis, and a darling indie rock duet with Dance Movie. When not on stage, he is active behind the scenes and has been nominated three times for Music Nova Scotia's Industry Professional of the Year.
