The Toronto Consort

Music All Ages

 582-3933

The Toronto Consort, Canada's leading chamber ensemble, will perform in Wolfville at Acadia's Manning Memorial Chapel, as part of this year's Musique Royale summer series. The performance will feature Italian music from the time of Leonardo Da Vinci, the unsurpassed genius of the early Renaissance. The Consort's highly imaginative program includes both vocal music and instrumental dances - featuring the lute, recorder, guitar, flute, early keyboards and percussion. Eight of the group's nine members will be part of this tour (which also includes performances in Halifax, Shelburne, Yarmouth, Annapolis Royal and Lunenburg).
This world-class early music ensemble was formed in 1972. It presents an annual series of concerts in Toronto, and performs throughout Canada, the United States, Great Britain and Europe. Well-known early music specialists such as Suzie LeBlanc and Colin Tilney have performed and collaborated with this outstanding group.
