Botanical Art Graphite-with Twila Robar-DeCoste at the Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens. Sketchbooks and drawing materials will be provided
Find inspiration in the Medicinal and Food Garden Collection of The Botanical Gardens. We will study the familiar strawberry to learn basic principles of botanical drawing. We will explore structures, line drawing and tonal shading. Our day will begin with a tour of the healing properties of plants and include notes on the strawberry and its importance in historic medicine by use of indigenous and pioneers peoples.
