Join us for the launch of our newest exhibit, Stewards of the Avon River, which explores the stories of Mi’kmaq, African Nova Scotian, Acadian, and Planter history in the Avon River region leading up to the "Golden Age of Sail" and into the 20th century.
Stop in for a museum tour, hands-on activities, casual conversation, and light snacks. This is part of “Culture Days” and includes the launch of fibre art works by Tacha Reed.
Opening remarks at 1:30pm followed by a poetry reading from Halifax's Poet Laureate, Dr. Afua Cooper.
