Using various types of foam we will create multi-colour prints using water-based inks, brayers and Japanese bamboo barrens to hand print our unique designs. Create small art pieces or gift cards.

About the Instructor:
Rachel Reeve is an interdisciplinary visual artist based in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from NSCAD University. Her current practice focuses on printmaking, pleinair sketching, and mixed media. With an interest in sustainability, she also works in design and installation using found and repurposed objects. Reeve lived and worked in Japan from 1998 to 2001, there she found her own affinity for nature was reflected in Japanese traditional art and culture. ‘Experiments with Gyotaku’ Reeve’s most recent body of work brings together Japan’s traditional fish printing technique Gyotaku with mixed media. Rachel has 15 years experience teaching art in the Annapolis Valley. From children to adults, she has taught at local schools, including 7 years at the Booker School as the School’s Art Specialist, community recreation departments, local Farmers Markets, Ross Creek Centre for the Arts, workshops for local businesses and private studio classes.
