Maritime Express presents, as part of Thursday music series: The Basin Brothers
The Basin Brothers call their music Hants County Country, named for the community from where they hail, seemingly nowhere and proudly carrying the spirit of Rural Nova Scotia, they have mined a musical gem that was no doubt buried in the gypsum packed soil.
A true throwback in a time of hyper and meta-everything, songwriters Devin Lake and Chase Ross switch between acoustic guitar and drums, singing loud with mischievous smirks. There's the uptempo retro groove of Tony Woods' bass guitar, combined with the centrally spotlit Jesse Griffith and his encompassing steel string guitars.
