This presentation is intended to preface the Symphony Nova Scotia's concert for the Performing Arts Series on February 1st at 7:30pm in Convocation Hall. For more information on the performance, please visit pas.acadiau.ca .
Inspired by the concept of the European “Grand Tour” – a rite of passage for many of England’s young elite – Symphony Nova Scotia’s upcoming concert will take listeners on a tour spanning England, France, Italy and Germany to enjoy music from the Baroque. This presentation will be your traveler’s guide: using musical examples and giving particular attention to the Italian inspirations behind much of this music, I will introduce you to the genres, styles, and composers you will encounter along this delightful musical journey.
Presenter: Michelle Boyd
