100+ people. 1 hour. $100 donation. $10,000+ to a local charity. It’s that simple.
We are a membership-based giving circle. Our members meet four times a year, March, June, September, and December. $100 at a time, one member at a time, one meeting at a time and one deserving charity at a time. We randomly draw three charities about a month before each meeting from the nominated charities, and invite them to prepare a 5-minute presentation for our upcoming meeting. The nominated charities each present to the members in attendance at the meeting. After all three presentations have been given, the members in attendance vote for the recipient charity. The chosen charity is announced at the end of the meeting. All members then donate $100 each to the recipient.
Meeting starts at 6pm. We are are hosting our March meeting via Zoom for the first time, and will open a pre-meeting “social” at 5:40pm to help give us time to set up. We will collect member votes through an online portal during the meeting. At 7pm, we will announce the final recipient of our group donation.
