The Acadia University School of Music (AUSOM) invites you to “experience Acadia” by trying out a music class, watching a rehearsal, or even bringing along your own instrument and playing with us on the Festival Theatre stage! We have a lot of pick-your-own adventure options for you to choose from - read all the details below.

Sound Painting Class – Festival Theatre stage, 2:30pm-3:40pm
Bring your instrument and play along with students in this improvisation course with Dr. Hopkins.

Acadia Youth Band – Festival Theatre stage, 4:30pm-6:30pm
Bring your instrument and play along with the Acadia Youth Band. This high school student group is supported by School of Music students, who offer leadership and instrument-specific help. You are welcome to join Mr. Hutten and current AUSOM students for this afternoon rehearsal.

Dress Rehearsal – Festival Theatre stage, 6:30pm-9:30pm
Listen to the Acadia University Symphonic Band and Orchestra practice with Dr. DeBorba. Enjoy watching this rehearsal as they finish preparations for one of our biggest concerts of the season.
