This one-day wellness event is dedicated to celebrating Black Wellness through ancestral practices, promoting mental health, and nurturing Black families. Join us as we come together to reconnect with our roots, embrace our culture, and focus on our well-being as a community.
Event Highlights:
1. Soul Food Lunch:
Indulge in soul nourishing dishes carefully curated to honor our culinary traditions. Let the flavors transport you to a world where food not only satisfies the body but also feeds the soul!
2. Tribal Qi Gong (African Martial Arts):
Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Tribal Qi Gong and explore the traditional movements that have been passed down through generations. Discover the power and discipline within as you practice techniques of self-defense and self-mastery.
3. African Drumming:
Feel the rhythmic heartbeat of Africa through the mesmerizing sounds of African drumming. Join in and awaken your spirit as the powerful beats uplift your soul, inviting you to move, dance, and express your inner joy.
4. Mental Health Conversations:
Engage in meaningful conversations surrounding mental health within the Black community. Openly discuss the challenges and triumphs, and gain insights from shared experiences. Let us support each other, break down stigmas, and promote overall well-being.
5. Presentation from Nurturing Strong:
Learn more about the Nurturing Strong ANS Families parenting program. Facilitators will share wisdom and strategies on nurturing strong Black families through the understanding that the family and community have a shared responsibility to care for and protect their children.
