The Annapolis Valley Honour Choir will warm hearts in their annual winter concert, “Gifts of Home” on Saturday, December 2nd at Horton High Performance Centre.
They say home is where the heart is, and that is definitely true for the Annapolis Valley Honour Choir family.
Bursting with the energy of over 180 singers, the three AVHC choirs will join together in this annual tradition to ignite your holiday spirit. Get warm and toasty with songs that celebrate the gifts of home that are the most important - shelter, sustenance, family, community... and the gift of music - of course! From cold arctic soundscapes, to evenings by a warm fire, to celebrating festivities with a hot chocolate (or a favourite local brew!), there is something for everyone. Don’t forget the traditional bake sale and raffle where you can pick up all kinds of holiday goodies!
Heather Fraser, Artistic Director, is delighted to welcome Alana MacPhee in her first concert as Associate Conductor of the Junior Choir, along with pianist Kimberly Cormier. The choirs are especially excited to be joined by guests Tyler MacDonald on percussion, and newly formed traditional Gaelic band, Delhaven, made up of local musicians Jenny Melvin, Morgan Davison, Jeremy Finney and Michael Roddy. This exciting collaboration will bring a new dimension to our audience singalongs this year!
“Gifts of Home: Songs of Solace, Safety and Joy”, will be held Saturday, December 2nd, 2:00pm and 7:00pm at the Horton High School Performance Centre.
Tickets: $20 (adults) and $5 (students). $15 for Livestream. Available online at www.avhc.ca with Eventbrite, or at the door.
