"Permanent Resonance began as a duo of Lisa Huyer and Mike Phillips in the spring of 2022. The two had discovered their complementary musical abilities while singing and playing regularly at the Oman Gallery jam sessions, and eventually decided to look for a place to perform.
In need of a name for their first gig (Blackfly Festival in Annapolis) Lisa suggested "Permanent Resonance" - a play on the term permanent residents - since both of them had come from Ontario to settle here in the valley.
Then, in the summer of 2023, Mike's daughter Amanda Sosnowski also became a permanent N.S. resident and was quickly recruited to add a harmonious third dimension to the duet. The blend is quite impressive. Truly, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts
The trio began building a repertoire of songs, from a range of genres and decades, choosing songs that highlight their close three part harmony, with Mike backing the vocals instrumentally with smooth, clean acoustic guitar. Currently they are performing regularly at various small venues in the Annapolis Royal area. Watch for their next appearance and treat yourself to an evening of great easy listening music. Check their Facebook page - Permanent Resonance for the latest events and video clips. More videos can be found on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT-IvxHUPlqihaN3yjcATrg
