Hosted in partnership with the Avon River Arts Society, Open Studio weekly drop-in sessions for artists, hobbyists and musicians take place in the Artists Landing Studio and in the Lydia and Sally café, both located in the Avon River Heritage Centre.
Arrive with a project or an instrument, join in the conversation and let the majestic Avon River be your inspiration! Everyone is welcome, no fee to participate.
This summer Open Studio celebrates its 10th anniversary and Cara Sawka and Liz Robinson have stepped up to carry the torch and keep the good times flowing by continuing to bring a musical element to the primarily visual arts based collective.
In an effort to accommodate more people and tastes we're extending the drop-in sessions to Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Mort Lohnes will join Liz on Wednesday afternoons with his Gibson guitar and nostalgia for singing old time country classics, while most Thursdays Cara will be bringing out her fiddle and some occasional accordion to share some toe tapping tunes.
For those who prefer a quieter environment, we also have additional work space upstairs in the gallery and in the art studio, where you will find our collection of.art making supplies available for use, including several looms.
