The Old Beef Stringband is a three-piece band based in Miꞌkmaꞌki/Nova Scotia. We play old-time music rooted in the Appalachian region of the American south, combining aspects African-American blues and European fiddle and ballad traditions. The rhythmic groove and variety has fueled our continued interest in playing tunes and songs from this tradition and has inspired our original compositions.
