Welcome to Shiny Happy People - A tribute to R.E.M. Get ready to rock out to all your favorite hits by the legendary band R.E.M. Join us at Church, you do not want to miss out on this unforgettable event celebrating one of the greatest bands of all time.
What do Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, and Coldplay have in common? All cite the band R.E.M. as a formative influence. Originally from Athens, Georgia, R.E.M.’s debut album Murmur was hailed by Rolling Stone Magazine as the #1 album of 1983 (#2 was Michael Jackson’s Thriller). They would go on to achieve worldwide fame with their iconic albums Out of Time and Automatic for the People.
For one night only, Valley musicians Jeff Hennessy, Nicholas D’Amato, Noah Scanlan, and Alec Bloch will come together to pay tribute to R.E.M. with special guests Sarah Pound, Nathan Grosset, Sarah McInnis, and Cassie Palmer. Intricate guitar parts, ghostly vocals, driving melodic bass lines, weird and wonderful lyrics…you won’t want to miss this and hear about it later!
