What is the main purpose of ValleyEvents.ca?
ValleyEvents.ca is a free online community-powered event discovery platform for sharing upcoming arts, culture, entertainment, and educational events in the Annapolis Valley region. Our goal is to help residents and visitors stay informed and connected to local happenings.
I just signed up for an account but haven’t received an activation email.
Check your junk or spam folder. If you still haven’t received it, please contact us at [email protected] and we’ll assist you. Alternativly you can use one of social login features (Google or Apple) to by pass the need to receive an activation email altogether.
How do I submit an event to ValleyEvents.ca?
Submitting an event is free and easy! Simply click on 'Add Event' in the navigation bar or drawer menu, fill out the required details such as event name, date, venue, and description, and submit.
Is it free to list my event?
Yes! Basic event listings on ValleyEvents.ca are completely free for all community organizers, non-profits, venues, and local businesses.
What types of events are not eligible for the free listings section?
Events that are primarily business-related are excluded from the free listings to keep content focused on community-driven activities. Examples include:
• Business events that involve customer solicitation or sales
• Advertisements or promotional sales
• Regular business-run fitness classes (e.g., yoga at a private studio)
• Administrative-only events (e.g., material pick-up days for tax clinics)

How do I edit an event I’ve already submitted?
After signing in, select 'My Events' in the menu. Select the event you want to update, make your changes, and click Save.
How do ticket giveaways work?
Organizers can partner with ValleyEvents.ca to run ticket giveaways. Visitors can enter giveaways directly on event pages for a chance to win tickets to exciting events around the Annapolis Valley.
How can I get more exposure for my event??
Basic event listings are always free. For greater visibility, you can purchase featured poster on our homepage and banner ads in our weekly emails to help get maximum visibility for your event. Visit our Paid Advertising section under the Help menu on a Desktop or Laptop computer for details.
My venue is listed on ValleyEvents.ca. How can I update our information?
You can contact our team anytime to request an update to your venue infomation. Addtinoally once a year we will reach out to verifty that your vneue information is correct. Alternatively you can request to become a Venue Admin which will allow you to update the information yourself.
Can I list regular weekly or monthly meetings (e.g., church services, club gatherings)?
Not usually, the site is intended primarly for arts & community events.
Where else will my entered event appear besides ValleyEvents.ca?
Events listed on ValleyEvents.ca are also featured on the AVR 97.7 and Magic 94.9 radio station websites. If submitted before the monthly deadline, they are also offered for possible inclusion in The Grapevine newspaper’s What’s Happening section.
Can I pay for advertising by e-Transfer?
Yes. Send e-Transfers to [email protected] and include your event name in the message.
I submitted my event, but it’s not showing on the main calendar. Why?
Check your My Events section—if it appears there, it’s been submitted. Events with missing details or inappropriate content may be returned for revision or declined.
