Sophia is a Nova Scotian singer-songwriter who has captivated music lovers with her extraordinary vocal range, enchanting melodies and the raw emotion she places on every note. With a deep reverence for the natural world, references to the sea, earth and sky pop up in her lyrics like a heartbeat. It seems to ground her while navigating big emotions and personal stories in her songs. Her songwriting is influenced by the sounds of folk, indie-rock, pop, country and classical music. The dressed down, sophisticated arrangements leave plenty of room for just the right notes to ring out. Backed by her skillful band, she makes it look easy to do what is usually hardest for an up and coming artist: to connect with her audience. Sophia is playing intimate shows around NS, swaying listeners show by show.
In the three years since the release of his debut album Nothing Good Ever Comes From Healing, Halifax singer/songwriter Landon Morris has been learning his craft. No longer in his freshman year as a guitarist and producer, Morris took a hiatus from his solo material to focus on fronting power pop band Gardener. Now post-university, Morris’ mid-twenties bring new perspectives to his songwriting and production.
