Come and find out where you are,
And what you are made of?...”

On our 1st Annual Astronomy Weekend join seasoned star-gazers Larry Bogan and Patrick Kelly from the (Blomidon Naturalist Society & Minas Astronomy Group) for an up close peek at our cosmic neighborhood through the telescope: planets, constellations, Galaxies, get to know your universe! Meet at the Camp Ground Host Site.
7:00pm Astronomy for Earthlings: “Where in the world are we?”
- A Brief History of the Universe: Ponder how our ancestors related to the stars in the night sky.
-Take part in a hands on astronomy orientation presentation to place yourself: in orbit, on Planet Earth, and in the time-space continuum.
-We’ll walk the solar system at the speed of light (or... at a proportionateley calculated velocity)

8:30pm Celestial viewing: A guided tour of our Galaxy and beyond...!
-Look up, way up... and back in time.....for real!
-Learn to identify constellations for fun and navigation as humans have done for thousands of years.
-Telescopes will be on hand for viewing, bring binoculars and lots of questions.
