Made on the Mountain Studio Tour
Join us on West Brooklyn Mountain for a tour of some of our creative residents!
Begin at the West Brooklyn Community Hall to pick up your map and artist profiles, check out the work of foodartnature a small, passionate group of community leaders in the Annapolis Valley who have created a network of hands-on, immersive activities with knowledgeable local hosts. Experience host Cindy Oulton of The Great Canadian Luffa Experience, who shares her contribution to the wellness of our community and our planet, through the nurturing and caring of this luffa plant, will be on hand.
While at the hall enjoy lunch. On the menu you will find Dukhabor borsht, chicken noodle soup, Flower Cart rolls, salad, dessert, tea, coffee & water.
After you fill your belly, continue to the participating open studios.
On the route you will find Heather Morse of Heavy Metal Heather, maker of something out of nothing. Heather makes sculptures using metal and good junk;
Julie Rosvall – Textile Artist & Printmaker with her collaborators, printmakers and visual artists Sheri Jean Hancock, Sydney Lancaster, and Bonnie Baker. Julie takes knitted lace swatches and shawls and prints them on paper, creating large scale imprints of pattern and texture;
and Susan Davar Pottery. The focus of Sue's work is to create one of a kind functional ware. She is inspired to create beautiful pieces on which to present food, the offerings that sustain us, whether culinary artworks in and of themselves, or everyday nourishment that still deserves reverence.
