The Acadia University Art Gallery is pleased to present Contexture II, a solo exhibition by Gaspereau Valley based artist Julie Rosvall.
The title of the exhibition draws inspiration based on the texture and tactile nature of here pieces and the word itself, “linked together to form a connected whole.” In the exhibition, the collagraphs and soft ground etching prints are drawn first from her textile works. The exhibition is an invitation to explore and reflect, not just on the final image – but the slow process of textile and printmaking itself. Iterations of Contexture have been shown at the Corridor Gallery, Halifax (2016), and the Crafts Council of Newfoundland & Labrador, St.John’s, NL (2023). It is the first solo show of Rosvall in the Annapolis Valley.
