A professional musician for 50+ years, Syd honours his Scottish heritage by playing and singing traditional Scottish / Cape Breton music (including Great Highland Bagpipe...GHB tunes.)
He also performs original tunes about the amazing history, people and places in the Annapolis Valley, preserving these valuable stories in song. His life experiences living in the historic town of Granville Ferry, Nova Scotia are also subjects for original compositions.
Syd has been a member of two Ontario Celtic bands; Rant Maggie Rant and was a founding member of The Steel City Rovers.
Paying further tribute to his ancestry he always performs in his Murray clan, (Ancient), tartan kilt.
