The Canning Kitchen Party is back! Join us again for great free music in Bruce Spicer Park every Saturday. We’re changing things around a bit this year, with a jam session at noon, open to all, followed by our weekly headliners, and Freya Milliken has booked a fantastic lineup! The Canning & District Lions Club will offer a barbeque in the park every Saturday while the music is playing.

This Saturday come play a few songs at our jam session/ open mic from noon til 1pm, then stick around to hear headliners Daugthers of Athena. (D.O.A) is a rock/pop band made up of current Acadia music students, Kyla Neville (lead singer/guitarist) Jacqueline Portnoff (drums) and Amy Black (bass). Forming just over a year ago, they draw inspiration from classic female rockers like Patti Smith, Alannah Myles and more modern rock groups like the Beaches and Avril Lavigne. The three all write original music and arrange their covers to fit their own unique style. Daughters of Athena has big future plans so stay tuned for information on future shows/bookings by following their social media @daughters_of_athena_music
