Join us for an afternoon of hands-on exploration on the Wolfville mudflats! We’ll discover the wildlife of the mudflats with nets, microscopes, and more, learn about adaptations to this amazing ecosystem, and craft our own mudflat critters out of air dry clay!
Option to meet at Wolfville elementary early at 12:30pm
At Wolfville Recreation Centre in Wolfville, NS (7 Victoria Ave, Wolfville, NS)
For girls and gender diverse youth ages 9-12

Mudflats Exploration: Participants will explore the Wolfville mudflats with sieve nets, binoculars, and handheld microscopes to learn about the wildlife that lives in this incredible ecosystem.
Wildlife Adaptations: We’ll learn about the many different adaptations that plants and animals living in the mudflat ecosystem have evolved.
Air Dry Clay Critter Crafting: We’ll use our creativity and new knowledge of life on the mudflats to craft our own mudflats critters out of air dry clay!
All activities are led by experienced instructors and support an inclusive, curiosity-driven learning environment. Be prepared to get your hands (and boots) dirty, think creatively, and discover the wildlife that thrives on the mudflats!
