A powerful triple-bill of amazing women at the Annex!

TOLEDANO is the immersive solo project of Moroccan-Canadian cellist Blanche Israël. Drawing on ancestral Sephardic songs reimagined for the cello and layered with raw archival and personal samples, TOLEDANO reflects on the vast evolution of the feminine experience in the time and space that separate Blanche’s 105-year-old grandmother from her 3-year-old-daughter. Judeo-Spanish songs and themes of community care, memory, feminism, and displacement resonate through the work.
Blue Lobelia is the contemporary classical solo project of multi-instrumentalist Rachel Bruch based in Kjipuktuk. Known for her mesmerizing live performances that blend improvised soundscapes with intricate arrangements, Blue Lobelia has enchanted audiences across Canada and beyond.

Sarah McInnis, a songwriter from Peterborough, Ontario, crafts deeply personal, relatable lyrics that invite listeners to connect. Her songs stem from confronting raw emotions like insecurity, grief, and vulnerability, transforming them into stories of healing and gratitude. With warm vocals and guitar, Sarah creates an intimate atmosphere, offering honest tales that remind audiences they are not alone in life's highs and lows.
