"Cataclysm" online exhibit: https://artcan.com/evamccauley/
Eva McCauley (she/her) is a painter and printmaker, best known for atmospheric, expressive paintings of sky, water and shifting landscapes that explore the passage of time and the transient and ephemeral nature of the world. She lives in L’sitkuk/Bear River, Nova Scotia, within the unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people.
"Cataclysm" is about the escalating global climate crisis and our relationship to the environment. She is increasingly preoccupied with the impact of the climate crisis, particularly in respect to the ocean and her local community. She has created a series of paintings that depict images of our ravaged oceans, shorelines and skies, juxtaposed with a larger-than-life human face printed on transparent silk organza.
