The Acadia School of Music's Concert & Lecture Series presents Creative Collaboration in Contemporary Music.

The Alkali Collective welcomes composer Paolo Griffin and percussionist Nathan Petitpas for a round-table presentation on collaboration in contemporary music. Through conversation, live demonstration, and Q[&]A, the ensemble will explore the many ways collaboration shapes artistic practice, from performer-composer partnerships to the creative process within chamber ensembles. This 45-minute presentation offers insight into the intersections of performance, composition, and collective artistry, while featuring a short performance excerpt from Griffin and Petitpas’s ongoing creative work. Students and community members alike are invited to engage with this discussion on the collaborative spirit of new music.

Concert [&] Lecture Series events are free and all are welcome to attend – please join us and support our student performers!
