Come and experience the electric fun of the 80's with a brand new full-length dance production, featuring music from Talking Heads.
Start Making Sense: Exploring the human experience through relationship to each other, music and the space we inhabit.
This brand-new 45 minute work presents dancers entering in and out of correspondence through structured improvisation and choreographic conversation. As they interact with the oddities of life such as surrender, individuality versus collectivism, and searching for spiritual enlightenment, they are guided and transformed by the soundtrack of Talking Heads' concert film "Stop Making Sense". The mood turns from light and easy to dark, with little dashes of comedic release for the audience’s delight.
Five professional contemporary dancers debut this full length show in the Annapolis Valley, bringing contemporary upbeat movement to rural communities in this era piece. Accessible and entertaining, the show features nine original choreographed works by Claire Newbery and company.
Produced by CentreStage Theatre.
