This workshop explores the scope of screening practices needed for Volunteers and Employees who are engaged in non-profit organizations. This session will be a discussion of who needs to be protected and how implementing the appropriate screening practices can serve to protect us all. This workshop will also discuss the tools available to assist you in deciding who to screen.

Annette is a proud Acadian with New Brunswick/Nova Scotian roots. For more than 40 years, she has been dedicated to building stronger families and facilitating community engagement within the nonprofit sector.
Annette was the proud recipient of the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 for her leadership in engaging the community in building a Community Peace Centre serving the greater Moncton Community. She also received the YWCA Women of Distinction Award in 2015, for her leadership in building stronger families. Recently she was recognized with the King Charles III Coronation Medal for building connection, community and belonging in Canada.
She has participated on the Board of Directors of Volunteer Canada, co-chaired the Volunteer Canada Volunteer Centre Council; Trainer for the National Education Campaign on Screening; as well as participated in the Volunteer Canada Truth and Reconciliation Committee.
