Inspired by the dances put on by Daniel Lapp in Fenn's hometown of Victoria, BC, Sea Glass was inspired to host a Dance of their own. This barn dance, which is beginner-friendly and the perfect way to spend an evening, will feature calling by the multi-talented Mary Beth Carthy and fiddle tunes from a multitude of traditions. Jigs, reels, polkas, and waltzes will all be present, along with the occasional schottische or foxtrot. Comfortable shoes and a water bottle are highly recommended.
Sea Glass, comprising Amanda Gowan on fiddle, Fenn Tschudin on flute & fiddle, and Drew Blanchard on button accordion, is an Irish-inspired trio based in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. The group met at Acadia University, where they are all currently second-year music students. United by their shared passion for Irish traditional music, they decided to form an ensemble together and enroll in the "projects" course, taught by Professor Nic D'Amato.
Music In Communities is delighted to support these students in putting this great event together. We will be offering a FREE SHUTTLE from Wolfville to Canning. Sign up HERE: https://forms.gle/sbGpwz9KTNSx5bWw5
