Acadia Summer Music Academy

Information and registration available in March 2026

Join us July 5-11, 2026 for an exciting week-long music experience designed for musicians ages 10 and up, where all styles, skill levels, and backgrounds are welcome. Whether you are starting out, hoping to get a head start on the skills you will need for the upcoming school year, or looking for more performance opportunities, we have a program for you! Registration and more information will be available in March 2026.

Our bands:
Haley Band (Grade 5): For students with no prior experience who want to learn an instrument!

MacKay Band (Grades 6-7): Perfect for developing musicians looking to build their confidence and technique.

Harvey Band (Grades 8-9): A great fit for those ready to take on more advanced repertoire.

Maritime Youth Wind Ensemble (Grades 10-12): Our top-level ensemble for experienced young musicians.

Community Band (Ages 19+): Open to adult musicians of all levels looking to play, learn, and connect.

Grade levels listed above are for the 2026-2027 school year. If you are seeking a more challenging experience, exceptions can be made to move to the next level of ensemble.

We welcome musicians who play:
Woodwinds: Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax

Brass: Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba

Strings: Electric Guitar, Electric Bass, Acoustic Bass
Drums and Percussion

Please make sure to bring your own instrument and any necessary equipment, such as reeds, neck straps, and amps (for electric instruments).

What to expect:
Small and Large Ensembles: Play in groups that match your experience level.
Instrument-Specific Coaching: Learn from expert faculty throughout the week.
Faculty Concerts: Be inspired by professional musicians.
Final Showcase: Celebrate our musicians’ growth at the closing concert on Saturday, July 11 at Festival Theatre.

We are thrilled to welcome both new and returning faculty this year! Led by Dr. Tristan De Borba and Lyndsey Mitchell, our talented team has updated our curriculum to make this year’s camp better than ever.
