The Admiral Digby Museum is excited to host a series of speakers this summer.
Kristina Inrig from the Joshua Slocum Society will speak about the new 'Slocum Boot Shop' on Briar Island and the society's aims & goals.
The new historical site includes a Cobbler Shop display, information on The Spray including what sailing would have been like during the 1890-1910s. A 'Spray Library' containing an original letter written by Joshua Slocum and books from the 19th century that Slocum is known to have read or could have been on his boat at that time.
Information on Slocum the author and subject other memorabilia gathered.
There is also a section that honours the fishing industry and fish houses/fish shops that includes information about the fishing industry and on how fish houses have been used as different things over the years.
