Join us for the opening reception of "Permeable Absence" by Sarah Noonan, a multidisciplinary artist and poet from Epekwitk/ Prince Edward Island. They received a Master's degree in Contemporary Art from the Estonian Academy of Arts (2024) and a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Mount Allison University (2019).
Artist Statement:
I contemplate mytho-poetic interpretations of possible futures, transient ethos, and how physical connection recenters all life. To consider our world today, I investigate what connects co-existing worlds through sculptures and installations. I find unconventional forms that challenge ideas of self hidden in themes like ecology, mysticism, and play. The disordered appearance and unrefined hand-sewing of my own clothes as material often collide with my perspectives on what is sentimental, unstable and sensitive.
