This session will teach you the basics of how to make, store and freeze soups, stews and chili, which we will package up and put in the AVFS Pantry in Lawrencetown.
We will make the meals together going over the basics for preparing and cooking the different meals and try them out for supper.
Then after a soup supper we will package the extras for the pantry.
It will be a hands on session so once everyone is signed up an email will be sent out with the items you will need to bring to assist in preparing the meals.
The Rotary Club and Annapolis Valley Folk School are joining forces for a hands-on cooking session to help stock our community pantry—and we’d love for you to be part of it! Together, we will prepare five different simple, healthy, freezer-friendly meals (including hearty stews, chili, and nourishing soups) to support local community members.
Whether you are an experienced cook or just looking to learn a few simple, healthy recipes, come out for an evening of good food, teamwork, and community connection!
