The Mermaid Imperial Performing Arts Centre will host the Atlantic Canadian premiere performance of Africville Stories on Thursday, October 27th, the first of the season's musical offerings presented during MIPAC's fourth annual Entertainment Series. Performance time is 8:00 PM.
The show offers a fresh rendition of Joe Sealy's celebrated Juno Award-winning Africville Suite, and features songs and stories about the legendary Halifax Afro-Canadian community. Originally released as a tribute to the birthplace of his father, the new compilation showcases the vibrant musical talents of Joe Sealy Quartet and Special Guest Artist Paul Novotny, interwoven with readings by Troy Adams, the noted Canadian artist acclaimed for his principal roles in theatres across Canada.
