The staff from Waste Check will present an interactive slide show: Imagine There Were No Composting Facilities! for youth ages seven to 14. There will be live worms and a demonstration of vermicomposting and a game of compost trivia. There will be two activities. The first is Salt Dough Art, organic art that can be put in the compost instead of throwing it away. During Recycled Plant Pots participants decorate empty aluminum cans with paints, fabrics, and more. They then place soil and seeds in the can and watch them grow over the summer. Participants are asked to register by Wednesday, July 4 by calling 245-2163 or e-mailing [email protected].
