This concert features a plethora of works for percussion performed by the participants of the 2012 TorQ Percussion seminar directed by TorQ Percussion Quartet and Mark Adam.
There will be works by Nebojsa Zivkovic, Casey Cangelosi, Mark Duggan, Eric Whitacre, Russell Hartenberger and more.
The TorQ Percussion Seminar is a week-long intensive study period for university-level percussionists who share a passion for and commitment to contemporary percussion music. It is a forum for percussionists from across the country and beyond to learn, experiment, dissect, expand and redefine their craft. It is an opportunity to find your voice and join other players looking to foster a culture and community of percussion.
Set in the heart of the Annapolis Valley in scenic Wolfville, Nova Scotia and presented by Acadia University's Summer Music Academy, Faculty will include all four members of the TorQ Percussion Quartet along with Mark Adam (Head of Percussion at Acadia University). Participants of the 2012 Seminar hail from Newfoundland, PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, New Jersey and Japan.
