This concert features younger composers and performers from Acadia's School of Music. There are five world premieres of works written specifically for the Acadia Chamber Ensemble.

The Acadia New Music Society promotes contemporary concert music in the Annapolis Valley. The primary outlet for this is an annual New Music Festival called ‘Shattering the Silence’.
This year we are proud to present Pulitzer Prize winning composer Michael Colgrass as our SOCAN Foundation composer-in-residence, and Quasar Saxophone Quartet as our artists in residence for this five-day festival.
